Micah Smith
Anchor/Social Equity Reporter
Micah Smith is the 5:00pm anchor and social equity reporter for KMGH Denver 7 in Denver, CO. Micah created her own beat in early 2020 and every week day, she tells stories about the issues that impact underserved communities. As an extension of her beat, Micah also hosts a weekly half-hour social equity show in partnership with NPR.
Previously, Micah worked as a morning reporter and weekend morning anchor for WBTV News in Charlotte N.C..
Prior to making the move to Charlotte, Micah worked at News Channel 11 (WJHL-TV) in Johnson City, TN where she was a reporter for 3 years.
Even before graduating college, Micah worked as a reporter, anchor, and producer at KOMU 8 News, the NBC affiliate station in Columbia, MO.
Micah is originally from St. Louis, MO and a proud graduate of the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism where she earned her Bachelor of Journalism degree with an emphasis in Broadcast.
Micah currently serves as member of the National Association of Black Journalist, is president of the Colorado chapter, and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
